We are seeking a salaried GP to join a stable, well led practice where clinical time is protected and systems are designed to work with you, not against you. This fixed term post may offer the potential for extension, permanency or future partnership for the right individual, subject to mutual agreement and practice needs. Full role details, sessions and supporting information will be shared as part of the application pack. The role would suit a GP who enjoys collaborative working, appreciates good organisation and wants to be part of a practice that actively invests in doing things better for both patients and staff.
You will be part of a team that embraces innovation to improve flow, access and patient experience, allowing clinicians to focus on meaningful clinical care. This is a 6 session per week salaried GP post within a well organised practice operating a total triage model. The role focuses on delivering high quality, pragmatic general practice within a supportive and experienced clinical team.
About Us
Brynteg Surgery is a forward thinking, innovative GP practice based in Ammanford, with a small branch practice in Glanamman, caring for around 11,000 patients across our community. We are a well established, stable practice with 7 GP partners supported by a strong and diverse multidisciplinary team. Our clinical team includes a dedicated pharmacy team, a Physician Assistant, 5 Practice Nurses and 3 Healthcare Assistants, working alongside a large, experienced and highly valued administrative team. We operate a total triage model and have fully embraced modern ways of working. Over recent years we have successfully integrated a range of new technologies including AI enabled telephone systems, advanced recall and messaging software, and in house health pods to improve access, efficiency and patient experience.

Job Description
Job responsibilities
* Salaried General Practitioner
* Contract: Fixed term 12 month post, 6 sessions per week
* Reporting to: Senior Partner, Practice Business Manager
* Role purpose: To provide safe, effective and patient centred general medical services as part of the practice clinical team, working within a total triage model, undertaking house calls where required, and contributing fairly to on call and service delivery.
* Key duties and responsibilities: Deliver routine general practice consultations in line with GMC standards and contractual requirements; work within the practice total triage system, undertaking telephone, digital and face to face consultations as appropriate; participate in the GP on call rota on a fair and shared basis; undertake home visits as part of routine clinical duties; manage patients with multiple long term conditions and complex needs; work closely with pharmacy, nursing and wider MDT colleagues; maintain accurate, timely and high quality clinical records; use practice clinical systems and digital tools in line with agreed protocols and workflows; contribute to continuity of care and safe clinical decision making; engage with clinical governance activity, safeguarding processes and quality improvement where required; work collaboratively with the Senior Partner and Practice Business Manager to support safe and effective service delivery.

Qualifications
Essential
* Medical degree recognised by the General Medical Council
* Full registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practise
* Completion of UK GP specialty training or equivalent
* Certificate of Completion of Training in General Practice or recognised equivalent
* Inclusion on the NHS England, NHS Wales, NHS Scotland or HSC Northern Ireland GP Performers List (as applicable)
* Right to work in the UK
* Evidence of ongoing revalidation with the General Medical Council
Desirable
* Postgraduate qualifications relevant to general practice (e.g., PGCert, PGDip or MSc)
* Additional qualifications supporting a recognised specialist interest (e.g., minor surgery, dermatology, women's health, diabetes or frailty)
* Membership or fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners beyond MRCGP
* Formal qualification or accredited training in teaching, mentoring or supervision
* Evidence of completed quality improvement or leadership programmes
* Training or accreditation relevant to extended roles (e.g., care home medicine or long term condition management)
* Additional qualifications aligned with population health or deprivation focused care
