Job Description
Head of Planning
Newry (with some flexibility)
Salary - Yes, it's a senior role. You’ll be paid accordingly.
Let’s keep this simple.
OHMG is a proper contractor. Long-established. Family-owned. No nonsense. They build stuff that matters: schools, sports centres, civic spaces — and they build it well.
They’re in growth mode. Not the “hype and LinkedIn posts” kind. The “new ERP systems, tighter delivery models and future leadership planning” kind.
Now they need someone who gets planning — and I don’t mean “theory and templates”. I mean actual planning. Turning chaos into clarity. Getting people aligned. Flagging the unflagged.
The job?
Lead the planning function on major construction projects across Ireland. You’ll work across design, engineering, construction, commissioning. Line-manage two consultants. Grow that into a bigger team.
The kit? ASTA, Primavera, doesn’t really matter as long as you can drive it.
The projects? Education, healthcare, public sector, mostly Northern Ireland and Leinster.
The company? 100+ staff, £80m turnover, still owned by people who care.
This is for someone who’s been a Senior Planner before and knows they can lead.
If you're already a Head of Planning, great. If you're ready for that step and can prove it, also great.
No tick-box nonsense. Just good work, done well.
