An opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to lead our Mortuary and Bereavement Services at CTMUHB.
We operate three licensed mortuaries located at Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Prince Charles Hospital, and Princess of Wales Hospital. We are currently reviewing our service delivery model, emphasizing dignity for the deceased, care for the bereaved, and strict adherence to regulatory standards.
We seek a highly motivated leader who shares our commitment to high standards of dignified care. The ideal candidate will have experience ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, understanding the requirements within the Mortuary sector, and knowledge of the Medical Examiner Regulations 2024.
The post holder will lead the Mortuary and Bereavement Services, working independently and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams involved in the care of the deceased and service users. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of after-death care, monitoring service quality, and implementing improvements based on stakeholder feedback.
They will provide specialised training to staff, act as a role model and mentor, and promote excellence in practice. Ensuring dignified care in line with legal and professional standards is paramount. Duties will span multiple sites: Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Prince Charles Hospital, and Princess of Wales Hospital.
Welsh language skills at Level 3 (speaking/listening) are desirable, enabling basic conversations with patients, as outlined in the ‘Croeso Candidate!’ guide.
