Sense Scotland is recruiting now for Support Practitioners within Dundee Services. Whilst no experience is required as full training will be provided, you must have a genuine interest in working and caring for others.
About us
At Sense Scotland, we make a real difference in supporting people with their everyday lives. Our vision is for the people we support to live fulfilling and happy lives and to achieve their own ambitions, and we place importance on strong values and on developing warm, positive relationships. We value input from every staff member to ensure that meaningful outcomes are established with those we support, and we do this by committing to our core values in practice.
About the role
Being a Support Practitioner involves working directly with adults and supporting them with all aspects of their life including developing life skills such as communication, social skills, and encouraging independence.
The area of Housing Support means you will work with people within their own homes supporting them with their personal care such as bathing and toileting, medication administration, meal preparation, inspiring a healthy life style, and household tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
Other areas include encouraging the involvement of activities such as seeing friends, taking part in social gatherings such as organised walks, a tea dance or coffee mornings, going out to lunch, watching movies or trips to the cinema, going to the gym or simply out for a walk around the block!
Shift patterns
Our working patterns require you to be fully flexible to align with the needs of the people you will be supporting. This includes a varied shift pattern including early, late, sleepover and nightshift allocated on a rota system.
We are currently offering full time (37 hours) part time (from 22.5 hours) or relief opportunities.
What we can offer you
Along with our extensive list of benefits you will receive the best possible support while you navigate your way through your first weeks and beyond. On offer is one-to-one on the job training; in-house classroom style training with our experts; opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge via our e-learning packages and we can look at offering full support in gaining additional qualifications through our own SVQ centre.
