Our Public Sector client is a leading provider of Council and Social Housing and are based in the heart of Barnsley. They require a Planning Support Officer to join their Construction Services Department. The hourly rate for this post is £14.25 per hour. Office based initially, the hours are flexible - but mainly operating with 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Once fully trained their will be a Hybrid working option. The role will be running through until the end of March 2026. The main purpose of the role is to schedule & dispatch work electronically to individual craft operatives of the Construction Services department. You will be contributing to the overall management of Construction Services and assist to ensure that the Service Control department is providing a highly efficient, economic and safe environment. Customer Service is paramount to this service delivering a 'right first time' model to all customers with timely response to enquiries. Duties will include: Electronically scheduling, allocating and dispatch work to all operatives To contribute to Construction Services achieving best value To assist in the delivery of the clients Homes Delivery Plans, including the Housing Revenue Account business plan and Home Stocks Maintenance Performance Management Plan. To receive calls & enquires directly from customers and external partners on a timely basis. Ensure emergency repairs are prioritised, within allotted timescales Relief Planner Support and running job queues, booking repairs and managing diaries. Previous experience within a Repairs Service Department is essential for this role and needs to be demonstrated within your work history.
