In this critical role, you will be responsible for the maintenance of our fleet of vehicles, ranging from small vans to HGVs. You will need to be organised and have good attention to detail. The ideal candidate has a real passion for all things automotive and takes a proactive approach to manual fault finding through to resolution.
Position: Fitter (also known as a HGV Field Service Engineer)
Location: Based out of the Kidlington depot (Kidlington, Oxfordshire) but travelling across all of the Waste Network Services catchment
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 Hours
Salary: £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About The Role
You will be responsible for a wide range of vehicle-related maintenance, including:
* Hydraulic and High Pressure Jetting Systems: possessing in-depth knowledge of hydraulic systems, maintaining and troubleshooting high-pressure jetting systems, and conducting regular inspections and testing.
* Vehicle Maintenance: conducting routine inspections and maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting hydraulic and high-pressure jetting system issues, and performing preventive maintenance tasks.
* Repair and Troubleshooting: responding promptly to breakdowns, utilising diagnostic tools, and collaborating with the wider team to analyse recurring problems.
* Legislation and Compliance: staying up-to-date with relevant legislation, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and implementing safe working practices.
About You
The ideal candidate will be hard-working and respectful, with a strong background in commercial HGV vehicle servicing. You will need to have a Class B Driving Licence and fully recognised industry qualifications (City & Guilds or Industry Equivalent). Class C+E / HGV Class 2 Drivers Licence are essential. IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications would be useful. Previous water industry experience is preferred, and hydraulics experience is desirable.
