About The Role

As a Production Engineer, you will ensure SEA's production processes are effective and predictable by deploying appropriate processes, controls, and equipment. You will provide input into PV projects to promote DFM best practices.
The Production Engineer will be based at our Barnstaple site with flexible working arrangements.
The salary for this role is up to £38k, depending on experience.
What you'll do
* Calibrate tooling
* Generate and maintain standard operating instructions
* Design production line layouts and balance workloads
* Manage material handling, storage, and continuous flow/pull systems
* Conduct time studies in manufacturing
* Optimize and challenge product design for DFM
* Review and implement process improvements to reduce costs
* Develop visual controls on the shop floor
* Lead engineering change implementations
* Address quality problems in manufacturing
* Evaluate returned materials and products
* Participate in daily GEMBA meetings
* Design fixtures and tooling for assembly
* Assist with PFMEA and process improvements

The skills you need
* Design of production tooling and equipment (Mechanical or electrical engineering, Solidworks preferred)
* Calibration and maintenance procedures (Measurement systems, gauges, R&R, SMED, TPM)
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Manufacturing documentation and SOP creation
* Autonomous work in similar roles
* ISO9001 awareness
* Ability to interpret designs
