The Vacancy
Want to deliver great service to our customer and ensure properties are well-maintained? In this role, you’ll be responsible for conducting residential property inspections, ensuring quality standards are met for home improvements, mutual exchanges, and general repairs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact for a social housing provider working across a wide range of properties within the Paradigm Housing Group's portfolio. Combining your technical and communication skills with our wider team and residents.
You’ll be travelling across our operational areas, including Bucks, Beds, Oxfordshire, Herts with a few properties in Greater & North London. You will need to carry out thorough property inspections, sometimes involving climbing ladders to access loft spaces, and produce detailed reports to support decision-making within the Asset Management team.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct property inspections for tenant home improvements, alterations, and mutual exchanges, ensuring compliance with quality standards and consent requirements.
* Carry out general property inspections, identifying defects and repairs, and raising work orders where necessary.
* Prepare detailed, accurate reports following inspections and provide support on project work as required by the Inspection Services Manager.
* Arrange appointments with customers, maintaining clear and accurate records of communications.
* Ensure inspections are completed on time and contribute to the team’s KPI targets.
* Promote a culture of health and safety, ensuring compliance with relevant procedures during all inspections and tasks.
* Liaise with internal teams, such as Asset Management and Property Services, to ensure repairs and works are scheduled and completed within agreed timelines.
About You:
You are an experienced Property Inspector with a background in housing or building, ideally with experience in the residential property sector. You have strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Your methodical approach helps you identify building defects effectively, and your customer-focused attitude ensures residents feel supported and valued.
With a collaborative mindset, you enjoy working in a team but are equally confident working independently, following lone worker practices where necessary. You are comfortable using IT systems to produce reports and communicate findings, and you take pride in delivering a high standard of work.
What We’re Looking For:
* Relevant professional qualification in Social Housing or and/or suitable experience within the residential property sector.
* Experience in conducting property condition surveys and able to produce accurate, detailed written reports.
* Ability to identify basic building defects and a good understanding of building regulations and planning processes.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
* Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach
* Full UK Driving Licence and access to a personal vehicle (mileage will be paid at in line with Company policy)
