Job Title: Band 6 Nuclear Medicine Technologist / Radiographer Location: Birmingham Contract Type: Locum / Fixed-Term (12 months) Start Date: ASAP End Date: 29th July 2026 Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00 (occasional weekends/bank holidays) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Nuclear Medicine Technologist / Radiographer to join the Nuclear Medicine department in a Leading Birmingham Hospital. This is a full-time locum role, offering the chance to work in a specialist setting and support diagnostic imaging services over a 12-month period. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic procedures in Nuclear Medicine and PET CT. Gain IV access and administer radiopharmaceuticals following training and protocols. Dispense radiopharmaceuticals from multi-dose vials for injection. Undertake manual handling and patient support in line with clinical requirements. Apply strict radiation safety measures in compliance with IRR 2017. Handle and dispose of radioactive sources in line with SOPs. Respond effectively to decontamination needs of areas/persons if required. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with departmental policies. Essential Requirements HCPC registration. Minimum 2 years' experience in PET CT and/or Nuclear Medicine. IV access and cannulation training completed. Competency in dispensing and handling radiopharmaceuticals. BLS trained (as a minimum). Classified Radiation Worker status (via agency). Strong knowledge of UK radiation protection regulations. Desirable Skills CVAD training. Paediatric experience. Experience developing/mentoring colleagues.
