The Role
As Finance Assistant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of finance operations across the school and wider estate. This is a varied position where accuracy, proactive communication, and strong organisational skills are essential.
You will be responsible for:
Reconciliations, journal processing, and supporting financial reporting
Processing intercompany transactions
Monitoring budget spends and reporting to budget holders
Preparing invoices, fee plans and maintaining accurate student financial records
Submitting payments via BACS and one‑off transactions
Chasing overdue fees and handling queries
Supporting purchase ledger during absence/annual leave
Contributing to management accounts preparation
Managing shared finance inboxes and supporting internal/external stakeholders
To be successfully considered you will bring:
Previous experience within a finance or accounts environment
Strong grasp of accounting principles
Excellent Excel skills (functions & formulas)
Knowledge of Sage is beneficial but not essential
Confident, professional telephone manner
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong team ethic with the ability to work to tight deadlines
AAT Level 3 or above desirable
