We’re looking for a hands-on QC Mechanical Testing Technician with a strong mechanical mindset to support materials and product testing within a laboratory and manufacturing environment. This role is well suited to someone with a background in mechanical engineering, machining or hands-on technical work, who enjoys understanding how materials and components behave under test conditions. You’ll play a key role in ensuring products meet performance, quality and safety requirements. QC Mechanical Testing Technician Permanent, Full-time £25,000 – £27,000 Nottingham (On-site) Working Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts 08:00 – 16:00 / 10:00 – 18:00 Key Responsibilities Carry out mechanical and physical testing on materials and manufactured products Prepare test samples and operate laboratory and mechanical test equipment Inspect incoming materials and finished products to ensure specification compliance Support testing related to material performance and behaviour under load Accurately record test data and maintain full traceability documentation Assist with investigation of non-conformances and root cause analysis Maintain test equipment, work areas and documentation to required standards Support compliance with BS EN 9100, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Requirements Background in mechanical engineering, machining, fabrication or similar hands-on technical discipline Strong numeracy skills and confidence working with measurements and calculations Comfortable working with tools, test rigs and mechanical equipment Good written and verbal communication skills (Maths & English essential) Competent with Microsoft Excel and Word Interest or experience in materials or mechanical testing is advantageous Experience in regulated or quality-driven environments is beneficial Apply or reach out to me directly lewis@cranleighstem.co.uk
