Senior Chartered Building Surveyor
for a full-time, permanent role, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Our modern, open-plan office is located on the outskirts of Exeter with excellent access off the M5 corridor. We also support an agile and flexible working strategy, allowing staff to work from home and adjust their schedules for personal commitments. The Role: As a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor, you will collaborate with expert, multi-disciplinary property professionals. Your responsibilities will include providing technical and business advice on building surveying and maintenance, covering areas such as condition, asbestos, access audits, and fire risk assessments. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, undertaking tasks such as: Technical due diligence surveys for commercial and residential properties Preparing specifications, drawings, and risk assessments for new build and refurbishment projects Conducting site surveys related to condition, including schedules of condition, dilapidations, measured surveys, and defect analysis Leading quality assurance to meet client needs and comply with legislation Presenting findings to stakeholders and offering solutions and recommendations Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a similar role, supported by: Professional Chartered Membership of RICS or equivalent, with a willingness to work towards Chartered status Strong relationship-building skills with clients Proven experience in building surveying Ability to work independently and within a team Experience with new build and refurbishment projects Knowledge of Building Regulations and relevant legislation Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills What We Offer: Competitive salary up to £58,500 per annum, DOE 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays Company pension and sickness schemes Funding for professional fees Hybrid working arrangements Access to RICS Professional Qualification Support Opportunities for growth and development within the company An enhanced DBS check is required for the successful candidate; costs will be covered by the employer.
