Join to apply for the Learning & Development Coordinator role at AXA UK
AXA UK is seeking a Learning and Development Coordinator to join the COO Office. You’ll organise, administer and report on Technology Academy initiatives, shaping programmes that enhance the COO function people agenda. This role offers many development opportunities, with lots of support from the team to help you grow through mentoring, training and cross‑functional collaboration as you progress within AXA.
You’ll support in shaping learning and development activity for our COO teams (such as IT and Change roles), engaging with stakeholders to understand learning needs. You’ll collate suitable offerings and materials internally and externally, collaborating with the team or external vendors to organise delivery, or partnering with colleagues to shape bespoke offerings. This could be training, mentoring, apprenticeships, events, community activity or broader initiatives to support the people agenda. Your support could therefore be needed end‑to‑end across the learning and people experience; from request and scoping, to preparing materials, to supporting in the delivery of training and events, to reporting on activity.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office. You’ll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home and will move to three days a week (60%) in the future. The position is based in Bristol, but we would consider other locations.
What you’ll be doing:
* Organise training with our Managed Learning Services partner and administer the associated commercial arrangements.
* Shape and deliver learning, development and community initiatives through effective partnering with SMEs, plus internal and external contributors.
* Advocate for and track goal setting in the COO, leveraging skills data, learning pathways, performance metrics and reward & recognition activity.
* Own the administration of learning and development initiatives, including class creation, attendance tracking and reporting in the Learning Management System (LMS).
* Support in shaping training materials and delivery schedules, coordinating room bookings and logistics, administering commercials, and reporting to measure progress and impact.
* Maintain systems, deliver reliable reports and collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in skills, capability and capacity management (e.g., tracking skills, SMEs, succession plans, flight risks).
* Partner with People and L&D teams to ensure that HR and learning systems have accurate and up‑to‑date data, with effective processes in the COO (e.g., mandatory learning).
* Manage the Technology Academy mailbox and handle ad hoc requests with professionalism.
What you’ll bring:
* Sound planning and coordination skills.
* Proven track record in building relationships and stakeholder management.
* Experience of working in an L&D environment, HR, or an administrative role.
* Ability to analyse MI and produce findings/recommendations.
* Report writing suitable for senior management.
* Experience of working in a matrix organisation structure.
* Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge and skills and ability to set up and manage databases.
* Ability to work both within a team as well as independently.
* Project Management experience would be a preference.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
What we offer:
* Competitive annual salary of up to £33,960 depending on experience.
* Annual company & performance‑based bonus.
* Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contributions).
* Life Assurance (up to 10× annual salary).
* Private medical cover.
* 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
* Opportunity to buy up to 5 extra days leave or sell up to 5 days leave.
* Wellbeing services & resources.
* AXA employee discounts.
