Responsibilities
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work with children with childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, attachment disorders and PTSD. You will help mentor and guide them through the school day, whilst also ensuring they are emotionally and therapeutically supported. You will collaborate with Teachers, Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists to ensure the safety and well-being of each pupil.
Qualifications & Ideal Candidate
The ideal Learning Support Assistant will be bubbly and outgoing, with a real passion to help vulnerable children. You will bring a positive energy to the classroom and be an exemplary role model to the students. A Criminology or Psychology graduate would be perfect! As a Criminology Graduate, you will be able to utilise knowledge from your degree and help to understand the behaviour of the students, identifying triggers that lead to negative behaviour, and learning de‑escalation techniques to resolve conflicts or challenging behaviour.
