Group Leader – Sustainability Team – Building Physics
Location: Bristol
Salary: £35,000 - £50,00 DOE
A reputable sustainability consultancy and engineering firm is seeking an exceptional Group Leader to lead a growing team within its Sustainability and Building Physics division — someone who can balance leadership and delivery while inspiring innovation and driving technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a defined group delivering small to medium sustainability and building physics projects.
Develop efficient, repeatable processes to improve project delivery, reporting, and modelling workflows.
Oversee financial performance, including time management, budgeting, and commercial growth.
Deliver high-quality, innovative design solutions and maintain strong, trusted client relationships.
Mentor and support junior colleagues, fostering growth, capability, and confidence.
Collaborate closely with the acoustics team and site teams to deliver integrated, multi-disciplinary solutions.
Represent the company externally at design workshops, CPD sessions, and industry events, contributing to thought leadership.What we’re looking for:
Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for shaping the growth of MACH’s sustainability group.
Proven leadership and team management experience within sustainability or building physics.
Strong commitment to mentoring and developing others.
Excellent technical knowledge across Part L, TM52, TM59, daylighting, overheating, and energy modelling (IES or TAS).
Commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, delegate effectively, and grow client relationships.
Exceptional communication, organisational, and report-writing skills.
Degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Design, Building Services, or a related discipline.Key Objectives
