Our client, a leading name in their field, is currently looking for a Purchase Ledger Controller for an immediate start. This is a temporary role with the possibility of becoming a long-term position. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Purchase Ledger (AAT qualified) to ensure accurate management and processing of the Purchase Ledger, maintaining up-to-date balances and transactions. Ability to hit the ground running is essential as this is a busy role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintaining the Purchase Ledger
2. Processing purchase ledger invoices and resolving queries
3. Applying correct nominal and VAT codes to all transactions
4. Investigating debit balances and liaising with suppliers to resolve issues
5. Reconciling month-end ledger, VAT, and Balance Sheet reports
6. Producing external reports for intercompany, auditors, and HMRC
7. Minimising the risk of fraudulent payments by authenticating new and updated bank details, following sign-off procedures for creditor payments
8. Processing supplier payments in line with agreed terms, ensuring accurate setup of accounts and timely payments
9. Reconciling supplier statements
10. Managing prepayments and accruals
11. Providing month-end reports to departmental managers
Additional Details
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 p.a.
Working hours: Monday - Friday, with a hybrid option (one day in the office after training)
