Offer description

Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as Customer Entertainment Associate (FTC June - September).

Be part of the movement – and play your part.

About the role

As a Customer Entertainment Associate at DFDS, you will be at the heart of creating unforgettable experiences for our guests, especially our youngest travellers. Bringing characters like Jack the Pirate to life, you’ll lead engaging, interactive activities that delight families and elevate the onboard and portside atmosphere. With a flair for performance and a passion for hospitality, you’ll work closely with Marketing and Customer Experience teams to ensure every moment is filled with fun, surprise, and personalised service—turning ordinary journeys into cherished memories. This role requires you to work any 5 from 7 per week, on a 7-12 hour variable shift (including weekends).

You will be responsible for

* Portraying Jack the Pirate and other DFDS mascots to entertain children and families both onboard vessels and at port terminals.
* Leading themed games, storytelling sessions, arts and crafts, and other engaging activities as part of the Jack & Pirate Island experience.
* Collaborating with the Marketing and Social Media teams to develop and promote guest experiences, including participating in photos, videos, and live events.
* Interacting with passengers to gather feedback via surveys, and promptly escalate any service-impacting issues to the Customer Experience Manager.
* Traveling to various DFDS locations to support entertainment events, seasonal activations, and promotional campaigns across the passenger network.

About you

You're energetic, outgoing, and passionate about delivering unforgettable experiences for families and children. You thrive on creating joyful, positive interactions and love engaging with guests of all ages. Whether you're performing in character as Jack the Pirate or bringing energy to a live event, entertaining comes naturally to you. You're adaptable and flexible, happy to work shifts across weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and you bring a creative flair to everything you do—always on the lookout for new ways to surprise and delight our guests.

Collaboration is second nature to you, and you work well with teams across departments like Marketing and Customer Experience. You're proactive, self-motivated, and take initiative in both everyday guest interactions and large-scale promotional events. Comfortable in the spotlight, you’re confident representing DFDS at public events and trade fairs. You’re also ready and willing to travel across our network, bringing your enthusiasm and expertise wherever it’s needed to help create memorable moments for our guests.

We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. And we cannot wait for you to join.
