Job Summary
Always wanted to start a career within Pharmacy but didn't know where to start? We are recruiting Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians to join the Imperial College NHS Trust as an Apprentice. You will be paid at Band 3 on a fixed‑term contract terminating 30 September 2028. The course is challenging and requires studying in your own time, so an aptitude for learning is required. The closing date for applications is 14 June 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, you must meet the following:
* Equivalents of 9 to 4 or A* to C passes at GCSE level in English Language, Maths, Science plus one other subject.
* Level 2 Dispensing Assistant Course with Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English.
* Overseas qualifications supported by an ENIC statement of comparability.
* No Access to Higher Education qualifications or degrees that contain pharmacology content.
* Submission of qualification certificates or ENIC statements before interview.
Main Duties of the Job
* Dispense prescriptions, manage medicines at ward level, oversee stores/distribution and aseptic production.
* Work across Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital, travelling to all sites.
* Cover late duty, weekend and bank holiday rotas.
* Maintain personal development, studying for qualifications and completing coursework within deadlines while working as part of a busy team.

Person Specification
Education
* Essential: 4 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including Maths, English Language, 1 Science (core) and 1 other subject. Non‑UK qualifications may be accepted with an ENIC statement of comparability.
* Desirable: A levels or an undergraduate qualification.
Experience
* Essential: Experience working in a team; prioritising and organising study deadlines to meet requirements.
* Desirable: Work experience in hospital or community pharmacy in the UK, knowledge of patient confidentiality, stock management, pharmacy computer systems (JAC) and academic portfolio construction.
Skills
* Essential: Knowledge of the pharmacy technician role; ability to organise and prioritise workload; accurate numeracy skills without a calculator; problem identification and solution recommendation.
* Desirable: Good customer‑care skills and knowledge of health & safety.
