As a Retail Optical Assistant, you’ll assist our customers in finding and selecting eyewear that meets their needs. You’ll help with frame adjustments, repairs, and fittings. You may also perform some pre-screening eye examinations and handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, supporting the phone lines with customer queries, and processing payments. Your goal is to provide excellent customer service, ensuring customers leave happy with eyewear that fits properly and meets their vision needs. Responsibilities
* Provide excellent customer service with personalised assistance to meet customer needs and address concerns
* Communicate effectively, translating professional terminology into language understandable to customers
* Maintain accurate customer records, prescriptions, and requirements to support service and product recommendations
* Work as part of a store team across the whole store
* Work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment
* Demonstrate confidence, passion, drive and enthusiasm
* Understand optical products and services (frames, lenses, contact lenses) and promote them to support store targets
* Ensure the store look and feel is inviting, organised and stocked in line with store marketing guidance
Qualifications
* Excellent customer service skills with ability to build rapport
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Attention to detail for accurate records and recommendations
* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
* Resilience to handle challenging situations in a retail setting
