As a Java Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Bank - Engineering & Architecture Solution Delivery Team, you will be responsible for improving, designing, and delivering software components for our advanced technology products. Your expertise will be utilized throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure these components are secure, stable, and scalable. Regular interaction with stakeholders to ensure alignment with shared objectives will be a key part of your role.
Job Responsibilities
1. Execute standard software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technical issues.
2. Write secure and high-quality code using at least one programming language with limited guidance.
3. Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot considering upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
4. Utilize tools within the Software Development Life Cycle to enhance automation and value.
5. Apply troubleshooting skills to resolve basic technical problems.
6. Analyze large, diverse data sets to identify issues and support decision-making for secure, stable applications.
7. Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for developing secure and stable code and systems.
8. Contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and practical experience.
* Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
* Proficiency in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
* Demonstrable ability to code in Java/Spring Boot.
* Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
* Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
* Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile).
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* Familiarity with modern front-end technologies like React and Typescript.
* Knowledge or experience with Go programming language.
* Experience with REST APIs.
* Exposure to public cloud technologies.
