Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Social Worker with an interest in continuing healthcare to join our Adult Social Care Continuing Healthcare Team based in Eastbourne. This is a full‑time role.
Responsibilities
* Apply detailed knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (2005), the Mental Health Act (1983), Equality legislation and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards to daily practice.
* Implement legislation and carry out the County’s Section 42 safeguarding duties.
* Assess clients in line with statutory duties such as Section 9 assessment under the Care Act (2014), using a strength‑based, outcome‑focused approach.
* Manage court of protection work where appropriate; training will be provided.
* Support clients to determine funding eligibility within the Continuing Healthcare framework in partnership with NHS Sussex All Age Continuing Care.
* Participate in monthly reflective supervision and individual supervision for CPD development.
Qualifications
* Registered social worker with a social work qualification (C.Q.S.W, DipSW, Degree or Master’s in Social Work).
* Experience with safeguard duties and statutory assessments.
* Experience in court of protection work a plus, though training is offered.
* Social Workers holding Assessed and Support Year Employment qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the position is part‑time or term‑time only.
