Description Scope of Position
This dual role serves as an ambassador for new and existing members of Alterna. The incumbent must quickly assess members' needs, identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling, and provide appropriate education, advice, products, and services. They will also refer members with more complex needs to the relevant branch partner or Senior Bankers. Additionally, the role involves maintaining a cash drawer and providing member service.
The Personal Banking Associate contributes to the team’s sales goals by assessing members’ financial needs and offering suitable product and service solutions. They proactively promote and deliver a full range of banking products, primarily through member-initiated contact.
Major Responsibilities Follow all sales and service processes
Meet sales targets by delivering products and services that meet members’ primary needs
Probe to uncover additional needs for cross-selling and up-selling during interactions
Provide education and advice on basic transactional banking, investments, and credit options
Execute transaction posting, cash management, administrative, and security procedures accurately
Identify and refer high-value or high-potential members to appropriate staff
Maximize growth and retention through opportunity spotting, contributing to branch goals
Participate actively in branch meetings, sales initiatives, and campaigns
Be available for walk-in traffic and member-initiated contact
Collaborate as part of both MSR and Sales teams
Maintain knowledge of all products and services, including procedural updates
Utilize sales and service tools effectively during member interactions
Set and pursue personal development goals, participate in coaching sessions
Comply with anti-money laundering and other regulatory guidelines
Engage in community initiatives as determined by the branch and organization
Perform other duties as assigned
Education / Certifications / Experience
Post-secondary education with a minimum of 2 years in a sales industry or equivalent experience
Experience in Financial Services Industry is an asset
Experience providing credit solutions is an asset
Knowledge / Skills
Knowledge of investments, loans, and basic mortgages
Basic sales skills for opportunity spotting and needs assessment
Proficiency in computer applications such as Excel and Word
Problem-solving skills for resolving member issues
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to engage and sustain member relations
Commitment to continuous learning and adaptability
Teamwork and positive contribution to team environment
