develop’s Software Engineering team are working exclusively with an ambitious health and wellbeing startup that’s building a next-generation wellness platform from the ground up.
This is a greenfield product with a privacy-first, AI-driven approach, designed to genuinely improve people’s lives rather than simply collect their data. Backed by a proven tech incubator with products used by millions globally, the business combines startup energy with long-term financial stability.
You’ll be joining early, owning the Android experience, and playing a key role in shaping both the product and the engineering culture.
The Opportunity
* Take ownership of a native Android application built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
* Work on a platform where AI and ML are core to the product, not an afterthought
* Build on-device, privacy-preserving features with no data harvesting shortcuts
* Collaborate with a small, senior team who’ve built and scaled successful products
* Influence architecture, tooling, and user experience from day one
What You’ll Be Doing
* Designing, developing, and maintaining a high-quality Android app
* Integrating with Kotlin Multiplatform modules for shared business logic and data
* Implementing on-device ML for personalised user experiences
* Building integrations with Google Fit and Health Connect
* Working closely with design to deliver polished, accessible Material Design UI
* Optimising performance across devices, screen sizes, and Android versions
* Supporting Play Store releases and ongoing delivery
What We’re Looking For
* Strong commercial experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
* Solid understanding of modern Android architecture and components
* Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform is highly desirable
* Exposure to TensorFlow Lite or on-device ML is a plus
* A strong focus on performance, accessibility, and user experience
* Comfortable taking ownership in an early-stage, fast-moving environment
* Industry experience strongly preferred
