Description Cornwall and Isles of Scilly People Hub Cornwall Council and the Council of the Isles of Scilly have successfully secured new funding from the UK Government in order to support 3,100 local residents over the next 4 years. The investment comes from the UK Government’s new Connect to Work programme; part of the national “Get Britain Working” strategy. It represents significant investment, which will benefit our residents and transform individual lives. The support will be delivered through Cornwall Council’s People Hub team, which is part of the Economy, Regeneration and Assets Service. The Role The People Hub is recruiting a full time Connector to join its successful team. The Connector will be the principal means of direct Cornwall Council delivery for the Connect to Work programme; primarily supporting residents face to face, in addition to by phone or email, in order that sustainable employment outcomes can be realised. The Connector will: Manage a caseload of approximately 25 residents; predominantly those seeking employment but will also include some who are in a job but at risk of falling out of work due to ill health. Work to gain a comprehensive understanding of the needs and goals of residents supported, coordinate interventions, monitor progress and be a guide and mentor so that residents are able to achieve their employment related goals. Deliver a comprehensive Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) process using SMART principles to measure progress and in order to realise goals associated with employment and skills; e.g. training or work. Adhere to the nationally recognised Individual Placement and Support (IPS) IAG model to ensure quality interventions and that a minimum of 50% of all residents supported achieve first employment earnings. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the range of potential employment and skills offerings available to clients so that appropriate referrals can be made. Co-ordinate interventions (e.g. training, work placements, funding travel costs or childcare) and to support the monitoring of eligible residents’ development/growth journey over an extended period of time. This position will be subject to a criminal record disclosure check. Working Pattern: This is a flexible hybrid role, with travel to meet residents at Cornwall Council and other public sites as required.
