Senior Backend Engineer (Platform Experience & Data Warehousing teams)
Location: UK, Ireland, Poland, Lithuania, Spain, Portugal, Finland
numi is proud to have partnered with a front-runner in data integration technology providing excellent experiences for their clients, including some of the biggest names in the industry.
We are seeking experienced Senior Backend Engineers (PHP) to join our Platform Experience or Data Warehousing teams.
The Platform Experience team focuses on optimizing end-to-end platform journeys and building impactful customer experiences. They are developing a data visualization tool (dashboards) and building features primarily from scratch.
The Data Warehousing team handles data storage and transfer solutions, helping users streamline data transfers to data warehouses/datalakes and improving internal storage. This involves scaling, refactoring, and enhancing complex data transfer systems that handle large data volumes.
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in developing new features, maintaining high code quality, participating in technical discussions, and collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers.
You will also work on identifying and addressing system bottlenecks, improving monitoring, and fostering a learning culture within the team. For the Data Warehousing team, you'll contribute to system resilience improvements and explore AI integrations for data analytics.
You're the Senior Engineer we're looking for if you have:
* 5+ years of solid backend development experience, with strong PHP skills.
* A good understanding of application architecture and software design principles.
* Strong grasp of core PHP fundamentals, OOP, and best practices.
* Experience with API integrations and database optimization (including data warehousing/lakes is a plus).
* (For Data Warehousing) Experience with data pipelines or handling large data volumes is beneficial.
* A commitment to writing clean, well-tested code.
* Familiarity with security best practices and monitoring tools.
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
* A collaborative mindset and enjoyment of working with product and design teams.
Bonus skills: Understanding of infrastructure tools (e.g., Kubernetes, GitHub Actions) and experience with AI tools.
What success looks like in 6-12 months:
* Platform Experience: Contributing to building and designing new features, demonstrating technical proficiency, ensuring quality and performance, and collaborating effectively within the team.
* Data Warehousing: Contributing to refactoring and scaling data transfer systems, improving reliability and performance, resolving data issues, and enhancing monitoring.
