Fire Safety Inspector (8094) | Permanent contract | 18.5 hours per week | £36,124 to £37,938 per annum pro rata | (Grade I) | Wymondham, Norfolk
Norfolk County Council's Fire and Rescue team is committed to the safety of its residents. The Building Safety Regulator is responsible for ensuring the safety of tall buildings. This role primarily involves carrying out work for the building safety regulator as part of the regional team established by fire services, while being employed by Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.
As a Fire Safety Inspector, you will undertake inspections of buildings in Norfolk according to their risk-based inspection programme, and assess fire safety arrangements in tall buildings for building safety certificates through the Building Safety Regulator. This may involve site visits and liaising with responsible and accountable persons.
The successful candidate will also provide guidance on tall buildings for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service enforcement and remediation actions, promote fire safety awareness within the business community, and enforce fire safety regulations as outlined in the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.

The role offers flexible hybrid working, with access to the office when needed, and regional working with other regional services, which can be discussed at interview.
The minimum essential qualification for this position is a Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalent. If there are not enough applicants with this qualification, consideration will be given to those with relevant knowledge and experience.
