Adult Support & Protection Senior Practitioner, Edinburgh Health & Social Care Partnership.
Salary: £46,023 - £54,476
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks per year
The partnership is committed to ensuring that all adults have the right to live safe lives free from harm. The role supports adults affected by disability, learning disability, mental illness, physical or mental infirmity under the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.
Responsibilities
* Lead role in Edinburgh's Multi-Agency Adult Protection procedures.
* Chair Adult Protection Case Conferences and Reviews.
* Oversee Adult Protection Plans and provide expert advice and guidance to staff across the Health & Social Care Partnership.
* Work with the Council's lead officer for Adult Protection and contribute to assurance and service improvement through auditing and other improvement activities governed by the Adult Protection Committee.
* Lead in ensuring training on adult support and protection remains up to date with legislation, policy, and practice; involved in delivering the training programme.
Qualifications & Experience
* Considerable experience as a social worker and accredited Council Officer under the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.
* Significant experience of working with adults with a range of needs and difficulties.
* Sound understanding of risk assessment principles and practice; ability to promote individual autonomy within a framework of individual and public protection.
* Good understanding of the impact of trauma on adult functioning and decision making; relevant training under the Trauma framework.
* Knowledge of adult and public protection issues such as violence against women and girls, human trafficking and modern slavery, forced marriage and honour-based violence, and county lines activity (beneficial).
Checks & Regulation
* This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
* Overseas Criminal Record Check required if spend three months or more out of the UK in the last five years; pre-employment checks must be satisfactory before offer and commencement.

Salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary with annual increases to the top of the range. Flexible working arrangements are available.
