Role Overview
This is a full‑time Payroll Administrator position based in the Brighton office, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 17.30, with a one hour lunch break. The role is on a fixed term contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent. You will join a fast‑paced payroll team, delivering a timely and accurate service to a diverse client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Process payroll from start to finish in a timely and accurate manner
* Create and maintain detailed payroll records
* Calculate part‑month payments and holiday pay
* Manage statutory payments and process P45s
* Liaise with clients and clarify payroll calculations where necessary
* Manage client pension schemes across multiple providers, including set‑up and monthly uploads
* Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation and best practice
* Use Sage, STAR and Xero payroll software
Requirements
* Experienced payroll professional with strong technical capability
* Excellent numerical skills
* Strong data entry and record‑keeping ability
* Competence in Excel
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision after initial training
* Confidence communicating with colleagues and clients across all mediums
* Good IT literacy and confidence using payroll software systems
* Methodical and organised approach
* Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
* Calmness under pressure when managing a busy workload
* Reliability, honesty and professionalism
* A minimum of five GCSEs at grades A–C, including Maths and English (legal right to work in the UK required)
