Central Functions is an essential part of our business, comprising dedicated teams and individuals who ensure our operations run smoothly. They handle payroll, sourcing and delivering materials, legal obligations, and maintaining health, safety, and security standards.
About the Payroll function and the Role
We have an exciting vacancy for a talented and experienced payroll professional to join our payroll department within the HR Shared Service function. You will be part of a collaborative, proactive team with a 'can do' attitude, ensuring a positive employee lifecycle experience related to payroll.
The successful candidate should be adaptable to change, with the skills and ability to quickly contribute. Experience in a fast-paced, complex, high-volume payroll environment is essential, along with a collaborative approach.
Responsibilities
1. Assist in delivering full end-to-end payroll processing under the guidance of the Payroll Manager and Senior Payroll Advisor.
2. Process various pay frequency payrolls for over 5000 UK employees, including absence and overtime.
3. Handle starters and leavers using ADP IHCM payroll system.
4. Input variable data such as Bonuses, Commissions, Overtime, and Attendance data within deadlines.
5. Maintain accurate payroll records.
6. Administer employee benefits and ensure correct deductions and timely payments.
7. Understand statutory deductions including parental leave, SSP, and AEOs.
8. Assist with pension contributions, including reconciliation, opt-in/out, and new starter uploads.
9. Process PAYE liabilities per HMRC guidelines.
10. Recover overpayments for current and former staff.
11. Respond to payroll queries via shared mailboxes and escalate as needed.
12. Produce reports to validate payroll data accuracy.
13. Liaise with the wider business to foster professional relationships.
14. Participate in payroll projects and stay updated on legislative requirements.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years' experience in payroll.
* Knowledge of ADP IHCM is advantageous.
* Experience with manual calculations.
* Understanding of Salary Sacrifice schemes.
* Strong Excel skills, including V-Lookups and pivot tables.
* Highly numerate with excellent communication skills.
* Attention to detail and adaptability to change.
* Experience in a Shared Service environment and continuous improvement.
