Role overview Our clients require a Designer to join the Engineering department to help the company complete the many projects and department activities that are in a constant and increasing demand. This is a key position that will help ensure that the company continues to lead by innovation as it continues its strong growth. A flexible approach and desire to work within a strong team culture that drives continual improvement will be a key requirement of this role. Responsibilities Utilise Solidworks CAD system. Generate and work to approved design specifications. Produce conceptual designs and costing data. Produce prototypes. Liaise with external suppliers for out-of-house engineering. Produce tooling files, procurement spec drawings, and obtain quotations from suppliers. Manage testing regimes electrical and mechanical. Develop and test assembly/construction methods. Modify existing product designs to meet customer requirements. Analyse competitor products. Requirements Competent using SolidWorks CAD software for 3D modelling and surfacing. HNC/HND/Degree qualification in engineering or product design. Proven track record for managing your own projects. Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and materials. Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel & Powerpoint. Conscientious, thorough and observant with an eye for detail. Responsible with a results-driven approach.
