To ensure the continued quality of care, we are looking for a Podiatrist to support us and the existing teams to work 4 hours a month at HMP Lancaster Farms. There is no on-call or weekend work to allow for a strong work-life balance!
You will be part of a forward-thinking, innovative healthcare team, including GPs, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and mental health professionals, delivering high-quality, best-practice treatment. You will also be part of the wider MSK Health in Justice Team, comprising physiotherapists and podiatrists working in 58 prisons across the country.
You will be closely supported and mentored by our Team Lead Podiatrist, with a well-developed appraisal system, in-service training, and funding for external clinical courses, providing an excellent supportive learning environment.
What you'll be doing
* This role requires the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the offender healthcare setting, who may have complex and/or chronic presentations.
* You will need to determine clinical diagnosis and treatment, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
To be successful, you will be HCPC registered with post-registration experience assessing and treating conditions such as diabetic foot issues, wound management, MSK pathologies, and nail surgery. You should be self-motivated with excellent communication and organizational skills.
