Rivermead School – Across All Provisions
This is not just a teaching post.
At Rivermead School, teaching is about moments:
1. The moment a learner realises they can.
2. The moment curiosity replaces anxiety.
3. The moment learning finally makes sense.
We are looking for a passionate teacher of SEND who believes education should adapt to the learner, not the other way around. It would be amazing if you have experience in teaching a range of subjects within a primary model.
Who We Are
Rivermead School is a specialist setting supporting learners with a wide range of special educational needs. Across our provisions, we deliver a thematic, creative curriculum designed to build confidence, communication, independence and curiosity.
We don’t just teach subjects, we teach life skills, resilience and self-belief.
What You’ll Be Doing (In Real Terms)
4. Bringing a range of subjects to life through creative, adapted, and meaningful lessons
5. Working alongside skilled support staff who truly know their learners
6. Celebrating progress that doesn’t always show up in data, but always matters
7. Adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs, strengths, and interests
8. Being part of a reflective, supportive team that shares ideas, challenges, and successes
9. Playing an active role in the wider life of the school, because community matters here
This Role Might Be for You If…
10. You love teaching, have a subject expertise you can bring to our school
11. Are able to teach within a primary model across subjects
12. You are a qualified teacher (QTS) with experience in KS3/KS4 (primary experience welcome)
13. You value relationships as much as results
14. You are reflective, resilient, and committed to inclusive education
15. You want to teach somewhere your creativity is encouraged, not restricted
Why Teachers Choose Rivermead
16. You matter here — staff wellbeing and support are priorities, not add-ons
17. A strong coaching and mentoring culture to support your professional growth
18. Opportunities to develop SEN expertise and leadership pathways
19. A genuinely collaborative team across all provisions
20. The opportunity to change lives, every single day
Our Commitment
Rivermead School is proud to be a diverse and inclusive employer. We actively welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and communities.
Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people is central to everything we do. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks, health declaration, and satisfactory references.
