Hours/Weeks: 4 hours per week, 09.00 – 13.15 every Thursday – September to December

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Psychology and Criminal Behaviours to join our Care, Childcare and Counselling department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Teaching & Curriculum Delivery – Plan, deliver, assess, and verify Social Studies content across HE courses, ensuring lessons meet awarding body standards and are tailored to individual student needs.
2. Student Support & Progress – Guide students through their academic journey with regular reviews, progress tracking, and personalised support to help them achieve their full potential.
3. Curriculum Development & Innovation – Contribute to curriculum design, develop engaging learning materials, and integrate vocational opportunities to enhance the student experience.
4. Quality Assurance & Administration – Maintain accurate records, meet assessment deadlines, participate in course reviews, and implement quality processes in line with college and awarding body requirements.
5. Professional Standards & Compliance – Stay current in subject knowledge through CPD, uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards, and actively engage in training and development.
About you:
6. Qualifications & Subject Expertise – Holds a Master’s in Forensic Psychology (or Psychology with a forensic focus), a teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE), and GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, with up-to-date knowledge of the field.
7. Teaching & Assessment Experience – Skilled in preparing schemes of work, monitoring student progress, and meeting awarding body standards, with a track record of high performance in educational roles.
8. Professional Skills & Values – Demonstrates excellent organisation, interpersonal communication, and the ability to work collaboratively while upholding the College’s values of Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, and Honesty.
