Our business is mainly food & grocery, and we source & process most of the fresh food we sell through our own manufacturing facilities. We’re recruiting a high performing Trading Manager to help our business continue to grow and succeed.
Ensuring our stores are fully stocked is key to a fantastic customer experience, which is why this role is vital to our success. As Trading Manager, you provide the best availability and standards for customers across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the team to the very best standard and strive to ensure the best shopping experience for every customer who walks into our store.
* Plan and organise current promotions or in-store events.
* Listen, respond and act upon customer feedback.
* Ensure market‑leading availability across the store.
* Collaborate with other managers to lead a supportive and performance‑driven department.
* Efficiently manage all people routines, taking accountability for department scheduling, absences, performance and talent conversations.
* Deliver training to enable the team to perform with capability and confidence.
* Motivate and lead colleagues to work confidently across various departments.
* Identify and develop talent within the department.
* Build effective relationships with other operating departments.
* Lead colleagues to work with purpose, delivering outstanding performance against all relevant targets.
* Take a leadership role within the store.
* Ensure resources are planned thoroughly.
Required Qualifications
* Experience managing a team in a fast‑paced environment.
* Excellent communication skills; able to share knowledge, experience and best practices.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across all areas, remaining flexible.
* Adaptable to change and able to challenge effectively.
* Active listening skills, responding effectively to customers and colleagues.
