Offer description

A Vacancy at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

Programme Overview

EPUT and MSEFT are embarking on the implementation of a UK first of type Unified Electronic Patient Record (UEPR) system that spans Acute, Mental Health and Community services. The new system will be delivered through the Nova Programme, alongside our commercial partners for this significant transformative journey.

At the heart of our ambitious programme is a commitment to people – our patients, our staff and our community. We believe that the key to successful innovation lies in fostering a supportive, inclusive culture that values every individual’s contribution.

Position: Advanced Pharmacist – Digital Medicines and System Integrations

The post holder will be involved in the Nova Project to support the implementation of a new single EPR system shared across Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT) and Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT).

This post offers excellent professional growth opportunities, including internal secondments to Digital, Clinical Safety, and Transformation teams to support enterprise‑wide digital initiatives.

Specifically, the post holder will lead a first‑of‑type project to develop new interoperability capability between the Trust’s EPR system and the pharmacy stock control system.

The role will modernise inpatient, discharge, and outpatient medicines processes by replacing manual communication with automated digital workflows, improving visibility, reducing errors and enhancing patient safety.

The post holder will act as the Trust's specialist for this integration and produce a reusable blueprint to support wider NHS adoption projects to develop new interoperability‑based outbound messaging workflows including medicines‑related digital pathways that are clinically robust, user‑centred, and aligned with national standards.

Responsibilities

* Provide expert clinical and digital medicines input to ensure safe workflow design
* Support clinical safety assessments, hazard logs and safety case documentation
* Deputise for Lead pharmacist (EPMA) at EPMA project board and represent Pharmacy in other EPMA forums when required
* Review new digital workflows to ensure they support safe prescribing, ordering and supply processes
