The appointee will be responsible for the development and maintenance of a high standard of practice of clinical and laboratory haematology. (Further details can be found in the JD) The clinical commitments of this post are outlined in the provisional job plan. The precise time arrangements of the job plan will be agreed following discussion with the appointee, however, will include adequate provision for clinical (inpatient/outpatient/daycare), laboratory and administration in addition to time for teaching, audit and clinical governance, research and CPD.This job description is not an exhaustive document however it is a reflection of the current position. Details and emphasis may change in line with service needs after consultation with the post holder. There may be an on-call commitment (currently a 1:13 for first on call consultant haematology cover with a 1:7 for specialist 2nd on call cover) but this is subject to change depending on staffing levels and expertise within the department. This post is 8 PAs including 1.0 SPA. Final agreement on the timetable of commitments will be made on taking up the post. Non-working day may be subject to discussion between successful candidate and the service.
