SC Cleared Electrical Design Field Engineer Contract: 3-month rolling Location: UK-wide Travel: Required (expenses covered)
Role Overview We are seeking an SC Cleared Electrical Design Field Engineer to support projects across the UK. This role combines hands-on site-based intrusive surveys with remote design and reporting work. The role typically involves one site survey per week, followed by home-based documentation and design work.
Key Responsibilities Conduct on-site surveys
Assess not only electrical systems, but also wider site conditions and infrastructure
Complete approximately one survey per week, typically consisting of: 1 day travel
12 days on-site
Remaining time working remotely on reporting and design outputs
Review and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Produce detailed survey reports and design-related documentation
Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and CDM2015 requirements
Collaborate with project and delivery teams to ensure accurate and timely outputs
Requirements IOSH certification essential
Active SC Clearance essential
Experience in electrical engineering within utilities, transmission, or power sectors
Strong understanding of AC and DC systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Willingness to travel nationwide and work independently on site
Familiarity with CDM2015 regulations
