We are looking for an experienced Endocrine nurse to join the Diabetes & Endocrinology team, passionate about improving patient experiences and clinical outcomes, and inspiring others to provide excellent care.
We seek a nurse with autonomous outpatient experience in endocrine testing and a key role in healthcare professional education.
The post holder will lead the development and delivery of a high-quality specialist nursing service for patients with endocrine conditions as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
The successful candidate will work independently in outpatient settings, supported by the medical endocrine team, providing face-to-face and telephone consultations, primarily for thyroid disease but extending into other areas over time. Using advanced decision-making skills and collaboration, they will arrange and perform endocrine tests as needed and deliver education to healthcare professionals on endocrine diseases.
Desirable: Qualified non-medical prescriber.
* The post holder will be a recognized expert, responsible for assessing, developing, and implementing specialist nursing care programs and procedures.
* Provide specialist advice, support, and liaise with staff, including delivering education and training to staff and students.
* Implement an integrated approach to patient care, incorporating new treatments and evidence-based practices.
* Undertake research and lead clinical audits within their specialist area.
* Manage patient referrals within agreed criteria and be the key worker for a designated caseload.
* Offer advice, education, and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
