We’re launching a newly funded, UK-based startup to build and operate a better way to collect regular payments using open banking open banking technology called commercial Variable Recurring Payments (cVRPs). Our mission is to establish a commercially viable and inclusive service that operates in the interest of all stakeholders—consumers, account providers, payment service providers, and the wider ecosystem.
We are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial Managing Director to lead this critical first year. This role is ideal for a strategic operator with a deep understanding of open banking, payments infrastructure, and the realities of building something new.
Build and lead a small, high-performing team with clear OKRs, succession plan and a performance-driven culture rooted in diversity and inclusion.
Lay the foundations for longer term investment and funding, subject to successful delivery milestones. Translate the Board-approved strategy into a sharp, three-year execution plan, laser-focused on launching commercial Variable Recurring Payments (cVRP) and a high-value pipeline of premium open-banking APIs (identity, data enrichment, credit).
Take full P&L ownership, driving growth and efficient unit economics through API call volumes, payment flows, and recurring participant licence revenues.
Be the voice of the company with regulators, industry bodies, analysts, investors, and media—shaping policy and elevating brand authority.
Keep the Board ahead of the curve with crisp, transparent reporting on performance, risks, roadmap shifts and strategic options—securing backing for major investments.
Deep expertise in open banking and a solid grasp of UK financial regulation.
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to operate in a resource-constrained, agile environment.
Strong stakeholder management – ability to build relationships with regulators and commercial firms some of whom may have conflicting objectives.
