Lily Close is looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker to join their team.
£13.40 per hour
Full Time: 37.5 hours per week
Lily Close is located in Rainham, Essex. It offers residential support for nine people with a primary learning disability diagnosis. We are located within a gated community, off a main road. Our team are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the people we support, providing them with the skills needed for them to live a healthier and happier life back in the community.

Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.
You will have gained experience in a similar setting, supervising and leading others. While a formal qualification is not required, you should be willing to complete a Level 3 qualification in Team leadership and management with Priory.
* Supervise colleagues, lead team meetings and support your peers with their performance and professional development
* Lead support planning and act as point of contact in the absence of site leadership
* Assist with the management of site petty cash and client funds
* Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
* Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
* Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
* Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
* Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
* Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
* Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth

* Previous experience in a similar setting
* Good numeracy skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
* Empathy, understanding and patience
* Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
* Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure
* The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
* Competent in verbal and written English
* A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential
