The important role of a Kitchen Assistant is varied, and just some of the main responsibilities will be to prepare food, ensure high levels of cleanliness and food hygiene throughout the kitchen area, assist in stock taking and to help family members with mealtime rituals such as pouring drinks, serving food, laying the tables. Just some of the responsibilities: To assist in the preparation of food. To assist in the serving of meals to family members and the setting and clearing of tables. To wash and dry kitchen pots/utensils To clean the kitchen area (floors, cookers, appliances, etc). To assist in ensuring a high level of health and safety, cleanliness, and food hygiene To ensure that safe working practices are followed. To report any problems to the Chef in charge Assist in stock taking and storage of stock, including checking deliveries.
