Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled 2nd Officer (II/4) to join our Bunkering team in a short term, on‑site position based on the River Humber.
The 2nd Officer will be responsible for navigational watchkeeping, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards, and assisting with ship maintenance and operations. Daily tasks include managing navigational charts, updating ship logs, overseeing crew activities, and ensuring proper communication with the vessel’s captain and other crew members to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Qualifications
* Navigational expertise, including proficiency in chart plotting, route planning, and use of modern navigation equipment.
* Comprehensive understanding of maritime safety procedures, regulations, and emergency protocols.
* Strong leadership and team coordination skills to effectively support and manage crew operations.
* Proficiency in maritime communication systems and protocols for seamless vessel operation.
* Certified as a 2nd Officer (II/4) and in possession of STCW certifications, including medical and safety training.
* Strong organizational and attention‑to‑detail skills for maintaining accurate ship logs and records.
* Adaptability to work in varying sea conditions and the ability to perform duties responsibly in high‑pressure situations.
* Previous experience in a similar maritime role is preferred but not mandatory.
* Commitment to maintaining high professional standards and adherence to company policies.
