About the Role
We have a brand‑new opportunity for a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team in the Cardiff office as part of the largest independent consulting engineering firm of its kind. You will join a talented, dynamic and diverse team of designers, engineers and technical specialists in a new city centre office.
As a Principal or Associate Engineer you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a variety of project types and sizes, working within a multidisciplinary team to provide high‑standard solutions, securing repeat and new business opportunities, and supporting the growth of technically competent, collaborative team members.
Key Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day technical delivery of electrical design services for multi‑disciplinary projects across a range of building sectors.
* Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions meet the brief and regulatory standards.
* Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, attending project meetings and translating briefs within the project team.
* Help monitor fee expenditure, resources and work delivered in collaboration with the team leader.
* Mentor and support the next generation of professionals, including apprentices and graduates.
About You
* Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer (or closely related role) delivering a variety of complex projects.
* Experience of modern technical delivery processes and use of relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux and Relux.
* Demonstrable experience working with clients, contractors and architects in a design‑oriented/consultancy role.
* Self‑awareness, an open mind and a spirit of generosity.
* Experience supporting others to develop knowledge, skills and confidence.
