A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Lecturer in Hairdressing to join our close‑knit Hair & Barbering team on a full‑time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will become part of a highly skilled staff network, who are passionate about raising and supporting aspirations, providing social mobility and an essential talent pool for the local, regional and national economy. We actively encourage the development and growth of our staff, from our internal "Be Phenomenal" programme to building relationships with local stakeholders and developing opportunities for staff and students. The role is primarily based at our Accrington & Rossendale College campus; however, there may be a requirement to travel across sites. This post could suit an experienced practitioner looking for their next challenge or a newly qualified teacher looking to make their mark within an Outstanding organisation.
What You Will Be Doing
* Teach within the team, delivering at varying levels to ensure effective learning for students
* Be up to date, plan and prepare and high‑quality teaching as required by your Line Manager to the appropriate number of hours
* Develop and share resources for the course/subject including maintaining effective links across College for resources
* Deliver enrichment and enhancement activities
* Complete exam entries and liaise with awarding bodies
* Work closely with the Head of Division and wider colleagues
* Manage student behaviour, in line with College policies
* Participate in moderation and verification activities
* Support with College achievement, retention and attendance targets
Qualifications
* 4 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
* A Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area
* A recognised teaching qualification or a willingness to achieve this within three years of appointment
* Appropriate professional experience within the Hairdressing sector
* An Assessor's award (or equivalent) qualification
* Successful teaching experience within Hairdressing, Disability Confident
