Job Summary
The Junior accountant is responsible for processing weekly payroll while ensuring accuracy and compliance with multiple state and jurisdictional regulations. This role involves managing timekeeping records, reviewing payroll reports, and maintaining precise tax filings. Additionally, this role is also responsible for any other tasks related to general accounting, accounts receivable.

* Payroll Processing
o Manage payroll for various employee types, including commissions, incentives, and bonuses for staff.
o Generate timesheets to accurately capture earnings and hours.
o Review timesheets to ensure accurate recording and approval of hours.
* Payroll Data Management
o Update and maintain payroll records.
o Conduct weekly audits to ensure payroll accuracy prior to submission.
o Execute necessary adjustments to correct discrepancies.
o Maintain organized payroll records in the shared drive for easy access and reference.
* Employee Communications
o Issue statements detailing deductions, earnings, and other relevant information to employees.
o Address and resolve any payroll-related inquiries from managers or staff.
* Employee Garnishment Processing
o Manage deductions for child support, tax levies, and other garnishments.
o Process manual paychecks when necessary.
* Payroll Compliance and Reporting
o Collaborate with ADP for W2 issuance and corrections.
o Ensure timely payment and filing of payroll taxes across multiple states.
o Generate accurate reports for various departments using ADP’s reporting system.
o Address state compliance matters through ADP SmartCompliance or directly with regulatory agencies as needed
* Accounts Payable Invoice Management (as needed)
o Review, verify, code and process vendor invoices, matching them to purchase orders
o Maintain accurate financial records, receipts, and documentation for audits and tax purposes.
* Perform additional tasks as required.
Education & Experience
* Requires an associate degree in finance, accounting or related field.
* 2+ years of experience in payroll processing and accounting
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
* Experience with HRIS or payroll processing software such as ADP
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Requires proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

Compensation
$58k - $75k annual
* Office Environment: This position is primarily based in an open office environment with typical office conditions; however, may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
* Hybrid position: This position is a flexible work model that combines remote and on-site work. When working remotely, the employee is required to have a workspace free of distraction during work hours to perform job duties.
Physical Demands
* Requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time, performing tasks on a computer, the ability to move within the office to attend meetings, access equipment, or interact with colleagues.
* This job may require travel in a personal or company-provided vehicle.
