Overview
We are actively seeking an Education Support Worker to join the Learning Support/High Needs Department at the University of Derby Buxton. In this role you will support a diverse range of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD), thereby fostering an inclusive educational environment. You will support learners both in and out of class sessions, offering assistance in person as well as online. The post is funded through a variety of funding provisions including local authorities, adult education learning support fund and Access to Work.

Responsibilities
* Support learners in and out of class sessions, both in person and online.
* Promote learners’ educational and personal development and ensure they can access opportunities within the institution.
* Contribute to academic progression and holistic growth of students with SEN/SLD.
* Collaborate across college departments and maintain strong connections with students.
* Develop individual support strategies tailored to each student’s needs and accurately record interventions and progress.
* Support curriculum delivery across stages from pre-entry qualifications to higher degree apprenticeships.
About You
You should hold at least Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, with experience supporting 16- to 19-year-olds or adults with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities. Collaboration across college departments and maintaining strong connections with students is essential. Your focus should be on developing and implementing individual support strategies and documenting progress.
