Job overview
We are seeking a Senior Research Nurse (Band 7) to lead our Research Delivery Team at Wexham Park Hospital. This role requires an experienced research nurse with staff management experience and a strong clinical research background. You will oversee research across multiple specialties and sites.
The ideal candidate is patient-focused, an excellent communicator, highly organized, accurate, and detail-oriented. You will manage both commercial and non-commercial studies, contributing to innovative treatments and pathways.

* Lead and support a multidisciplinary research team, managing performance and compliance
* Oversee recruitment and care of research participants
* Ensure documentation and regulatory compliance
* Act as liaison with internal and external stakeholders

* Support training and development of junior staff
* Assist with operational management of the research service

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Research and Research Operations Manager, your key tasks include:
* Develop strategies for participant recruitment
* Ensure staff adhere to study protocols and standards
* Oversee informed consent process
* Manage study data and documentation
* Coordinate study setup and closure
* Support staff training and development
* Maintain compliance with regulations and sponsor requirements
Management
* Work with the R&I Operations Manager to deliver research services
* Allocate resources and lead the research team
* Develop and enforce departmental policies
* Ensure staff are trained and competent
Clinical responsibilities
* Manage own studies and supervise team members
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and clinics
* Ensure participant safety and data integrity
* Report adverse events and monitor treatment toxicity
Person specification
Qualifications
* Degree in Health Science, Nursing/Midwifery, or NMC registration
* Post-registration teaching/management qualification
* GCP/ICH training
Experience
* Extensive NHS research experience
* Knowledge of clinical research and regulations
Skills and Knowledge
* Leadership and problem-solving skills
* Experience in clinical trial management
* Ability to handle distressed patients and emotional situations
