IPS Employment Specialist – West Cornwall (Ref:0061ZB)
We’re looking for a dedicated Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Employment Specialist to help people back into employment. If you take pride in your work, can think creatively about partnership delivery, and enjoy talking with employers to match clients to meaningful jobs, you may be the right fit.
Main Duties of the Job
• Starting salary £27,500 per year, rising annually in line with our pay progression salary bands to a maximum of £32,000.
• Based out of our Penzance office, covering the West of Cornwall area and meeting clients in the community.
• Supporting clients with CV writing, interview techniques and liaising with potential employers on their behalf.
• Working as part of a large integrated drug and alcohol service serving Cornwall’s most excluded and disadvantaged people.

Job Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders – employers, partner agencies, clients and families/carers.
• Lead, nurture and encourage clients, helping them achieve stable employment.
• Deliver services from multiple locations and work flexible, unsocial hours as required.
• Present a professional and supportive approach, treating each client as an individual and acting flexibly, curious, and good at listening.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car to travel in the West Cornwall area.

Essential Skills
* Experience of recruitment processes and employability skills development
* Experience supporting individuals with complex needs to gain or maintain employment
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car
* Ability to develop and sustain relationships with employers, partner agencies, clients and their families/carers
* Experience of multi‑agency partnership working
* Sound knowledge of best practice in addiction and/or employability and employment services provision
* Understanding of the challenges faced by people in treatment/recovery in the job market and in employability services
* Capacity to lead and motivate others, nurture and encourage clients
* Strong IT skills – ideally within Google Workspace
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
* Flexibility to work from multiple locations and to work flexible and unsocial hours as required
Qualifications and Experience
* Required experience: recruitment processes and employability skill development, supporting individuals with complex needs, full UK driving licence, partnership working, knowledge of best practice in addiction and employment services, client motivation support, IT literacy (Google Workspace), organisational and time‑management, flexibility and unsocial hours
