The company’s platform addresses one of the most fundamental challenges in software: ensuring reliability at scale. By automating test data, test cases and test environments, it enables enterprise teams to ship faster, reduce compliance risks and modernise QA across the board. The organisation has completed a successful Series A round with leading global investors and is now scaling its leadership team to deliver on ambitious growth plans. The Head of Engineering role is central to this journey, combining strategic leadership with hands-on oversight of technical direction, people development and organisational excellence.
The Head of Engineering will be tasked with building and enabling a world-class engineering team that thrives in a fast-moving, commercially focused environment. The responsibilities are broad and high-impact:
* Team leadership and growth – Define clear goals, processes and delivery rhythms, creating structure and predictability while maintaining agility. Establish a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement where engineers can do their best work.
* Cross-functional partnership – Work closely with Product and Commercial leadership to ensure technical direction aligns with customer needs and revenue goals. Maintain a strong product mindset, connecting technical decisions directly to business outcomes.
* Technical direction – Drive architectural and engineering decisions, with a particular focus on scaling automation and developing AI-driven capabilities. Balance long-term platform scalability with the immediate needs of customers and the business.
* People development – Hire, coach and mentor both engineering managers and individual contributors. Build clear pathways for growth, ensuring that talent development sits at the heart of the engineering function.
* Leadership team contribution – Operate as a peer to the CEO and senior leadership, contributing strong ideas, challenging assumptions and ensuring a focus on execution. Influence the wider business strategy with a technical perspective.
* Balance of agility and discipline – Champion startup speed and creativity while embedding enterprise-grade standards of reliability, compliance and delivery discipline.
The ideal candidate brings proven experience leading engineering organisations in high-growth startups or scaleups, or senior leadership experience in larger technology companies with a record of building and scaling teams. A strong product orientation is essential, as is the ability to translate complex technical considerations into clear business impact. Experience in QA, testing technologies, automation or AI is highly desirable.
