GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work with post-16 learners in Carlisle — someone who truly wants to make a lasting difference.
Responsibilities:
* Providing personalised 1:1 and small group support to students with special educational needs.
* Assisting in delivering tailored lessons and adapting resources to suit individual learning styles.
* Helping students develop key life skills and encouraging independence.
* Supporting emotional well-being and promoting positive, respectful behaviour.
* Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and wider school staff to create a nurturing learning environment.
* Offering support with personal care and mobility when required.
Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting students with SEN, ideally within a Post-16 setting.
* A calm, caring, and resilient approach to working with young people.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
* A genuine passion for inclusive education and a proactive mindset.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
